About Jellybeanstreet

Who we are

We're Jellybeanstreet, and we love kids' art.

Our mission is simple: to help parents figure out what to do with their first children's scribbles and finger paintings from home or daycare, and then turn those finger paintings into stylish modern art and re-sell them to support charities for children.

We started this company because we believe that every single piece of art created by a child is beautiful, no matter how big or small it is. We want people to see the beauty in all types of art—from the smallest scribble on a napkin to the largest mural on an entire wall. Our goal is to help parents make their kids' artwork into something by turning them into stylish pieces of modern art—and then give back to those kids in the process by re-selling them to help raise money for children's charities!

How we got here

Hi! My name is Marisa and I am the founder of Jellybeanstreet. The idea for my business was born out of my love for art and my children.

When our son was little, he went to childcare like many other kids. At childcare children love to create, express themselves, and get a little dirty in the process, as all parents know well! In an environment like a childcare centre, there are hundreds of special pieces of art being created every month! Like a lot of parents we didn't really know what to do with ALL the artwork that he brought home over the school year….do we keep it in a shoe box, never to be looked at again?

My husband and I wanted to hang a beautiful print from our two year old son's artwork instead of purchasing expensive art from someone else. So, for my birthday, my husband surprised me and scanned my sons daycare scribbles, photo shopped out the wrinkles, removed backgrounds and smudges and turned them into a big beautiufl piece of modern of modern art while keeping his original art at focus. The result was amazing and I loved it!!! After hanging the finished print in our family home, family and friends would comment on the print and ask where they could buy one.  That is when we decided to start Jellybeanstreet, to provide messy play and paint workshops for children and to create modern designs inspired by their artwork with the goal of supporting children's charities.

We have since created over 30,000 artwork designs and rallied to support over 400 children's charities around the world from Ronald McDonald House to Make-A-Wish Foundation, raising thousands of dollars each year. Jellybeanstreet has received global media attention and has been featured on Channel 7 News, news.com and even appeared in a Netflix episode of Yummy Mummies, Season 2, Episode 7.

Why Jellybeanstreet?

The name ‘Jellybeanstreet’ was inspired by the colourful streets of St. John’s Newfoundland, Canada. The children's bright colourful paintings remind us of this beautiful colourful city, and the warmth and kindness of its people certainly match the purpose of our organization.
